David Archuleta: American Idol

David Archuleta Singing ‘Crazy’ Video

David Archuleta sang the song “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley, but unfortunately, the DJ Danger Mouse, a partial ownder, wouldn’t let American Idol air the video.  Apparently, it was a great version, but DJ Danger Mouse said no:

“The song was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. Gnarls Barkley is made up of 2 DJs, Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse. (1) And it’s owned a third by public domain, which they originally took the tune from, I guess, and then each one of them. Cee-Lo cleared it, public domain cleared it, so we said, ‘Go ahead, sing the song, it’s OK,’ and then Danger Mouse came in and said, ‘No, I do not want you to use the song.’ We put it on a DVD and sent it out to him and asked him to please look at these three, they are fabulous and one of the best performances we’ve ever had, and he said no. So we couldn’t show any one one of them singing it. “  More from the interview here.

It’s too bad.  Apparently, they’ve been doing everything they can to remove even the original song video itself from YouTube ‘n’ such. Well, we found one original version…we only wish we could show David Archuleta singing it:

David Archuleta Lyrics: Sing with the Winner of American Idol!

David Archuleta has one of the strongest voices that’s ever graced American Idol…and one of the youngest!  But damn, the guy sings the songs so well.   When his first album comes out, you’ll be able to see the lyrics HERE!!

David Archuleta Bio

⊆ March 24th, 2008 by archuleta fan | ˜ Comments Off

Archuleta is from Murray, Utah (and is a student at Murray High School — he’s the youngest American Idol contestant!).  Archuleta started singing when he was six because he was inspired by the musical Les Misérables.  He started performing as an entertainer at ten years old in the Utah Talent Competition where he won the kid division by singing “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton.

In 2003, at the age of 12, Archuleta sang on several episodes of the television show Star Search, in which he won the Grand Prize on Star Search 2.  (Ironically, in one episode, he sang against Alexandréa Lushington, who is also a “top 20″ semi-finalist on American Idol alongside Archuleta.  David Archuleta also appeared on The Jenny Jones Show and CBS’ The Early Show.

David Archuleta cites Hispanic-influenced influences in his performance style from his mother, who is from Honduras, as well as jazz from his father, who was a jazz musician.  David loves musicals, but also loves pop — strong musical influences include Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Franklin and Bryan Adams, as well as pop artists Natasha Bedingfield, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bryan Adams and Kirk Franklin.

Archuleta is currently balancing school and the American Idol competition.  Personally, we thing DAVID WILL WIN AMERICAN IDOL.  Vote for him with us, and get ready for his first album after the season ends!!

Another notable point of success — his performance of “Imagine” was already #1 on iTunes!!
